Building confidence for future grooms
A puppy’s first groom is about confidence, not achieving a perfect adult haircut. We work at your puppy’s pace, reward calm behaviour and keep the session appropriate for their age and attention span.
Starting early can make lifelong coat care much easier. At home, you can help by briefly touching paws and ears, introducing a soft brush and rewarding your puppy for standing calmly on a safe, non-slip surface.
Puppy First Grooms FAQs
Helpful answers to the questions customers usually ask before booking. ♡
When should my puppy have its first groom?
Ask your vet when it is safe after vaccinations. For breeds requiring regular grooming, an early positive introduction is usually helpful.
Will my puppy receive a full haircut?
Usually the priority is familiarisation. A light face, feet or hygiene tidy may be possible if your puppy is comfortable.
What should I do before the appointment?
Let us know about any worries, practise short brushing sessions and avoid tiring or overwhelming your puppy immediately beforehand.
